Welcome to Thrifted & True. These terms are the basic rules for using this site. By visiting thriftedandtrue.com, you agree to them. If you don't agree, that's fine — but please don't use the site.
What This Site Is
Thrifted & True is a personal blog about home decorating on a budget. It's written by Naomi Decker, a Brooklyn illustrator and mom of twins. The content here — articles, photos, advice, opinions — is for informational and inspirational purposes. It's not professional design consultation, and it's not a guarantee that a particular paint color will work in your particular apartment.
We don't charge for access. We don't have sponsors. We don't have affiliate links. We don't sell products. The site exists because Naomi likes writing it, and because people seem to find it useful.
How You Can Use the Content
Everything on this site — words, photos, illustrations, the works — belongs to Thrifted & True. You're welcome to:
Read it
Share links to it
Print or save a reasonable number of pages for your personal use
Quote short passages with credit and a link back
You're not welcome to:
Republish entire posts elsewhere without permission
Use our photos or illustrations for your own site, social media, or products
Sell or package our content as your own
Use automated scrapers to pull content from the site

Accuracy and Advice
Naomi writes from her own experience — what worked in her apartment, what didn't, what she'd do differently. She does her best to be accurate and honest. But she's one person with one apartment, and your situation may be different. Test paint colors before you commit. Check furniture for bedbugs before you bring it inside. Don't spend money you can't afford based on a blog post. Use common sense.
We don't guarantee that every tip will work in every home, or that every product mentioned will still be available or the same price by the time you read about it.
User Content
This site doesn't have user accounts, comment sections, or public forums. You're not uploading anything to us, and we're not hosting your content. If you email us or subscribe to our newsletter, we'll handle that information according to our Privacy Policy.
If you send us feedback, suggestions, or stories about your own home — and we love hearing those — you grant us permission to reference or discuss them on the site. We'll never publish your full name or email address without asking first.
Links to Other Sites
We link to other websites — thrift stores, flea markets, reference sources, the occasional article we're responding to. We don't control those sites, and linking to them isn't an endorsement of everything they've ever published. If you click a link and end up somewhere you don't want to be, that's on the destination site, not on us.
Limitation of Liability
Thrifted & True is a free blog. We don't make money from your visit. Accordingly:
We provide the site "as is" — no warranties, express or implied.
We're not liable for any damages that result from your use of the site. If you paint your living room a color we recommended and you hate it, we're sorry, but we're not responsible.
If you follow advice from this site and something goes wrong — a furniture purchase doesn't work out, a DIY project fails, a cat scratches the upholstery you just repaired — we're not liable. That's the nature of real-life decorating.
Some jurisdictions don't allow complete disclaimers of liability for free services. If you live in one of those places, this section applies to the fullest extent your local law permits.
Governing Law
Thrifted & True is based in New York. These terms are governed by New York law. Any disputes related to this site will be handled in the courts of New York County, New York.
Changes to These Terms
If we update these terms, we'll post the new version here and change the Effective Date at the top. If the changes are significant, we'll add a note on the homepage. Continuing to use the site after changes means you accept them.
